LinkedIn is once again experimenting with its core user experience, currently testing new suggested content feeds with a select group of attendees at the Cannes Lions festival. These alternative, topic-focused feeds are designed to complement users' regular news feeds, pulling in content based on their engagement patterns or trending news stories.

Julia Cabral Flavin, LinkedIn's Senior Director of Product Marketing, emphasized the platform's aim to help professionals stay abreast of key updates within their fields and expand user engagement, reinforcing LinkedIn's value as a primary news and information source. Initial feedback from the Cannes Lions cohort has reportedly been positive, hinting at the potential for a broader rollout in the near future.

This isn't LinkedIn's first foray into alternative feed structures. The platform conducted a similar test in 2025, which, by all accounts, garnered a limited response and didn't lead to a full launch. The current iteration suggests a refined approach, with LinkedIn hoping to crack the code on delivering more targeted, valuable content discovery.

The timing of this test comes as LinkedIn reports strong engagement metrics. In May 2026, new CEO Daniel Shapero announced that LinkedIn posts saw a 14% increase in Q1 2026, with paid video growing almost 30% year-over-year. These figures underscore a period of robust activity on the platform, providing a fertile ground for new features aimed at deepening user interaction. Whether these suggested feeds will move beyond this limited test group and into the mainstream remains to be seen, but the early signals are certainly more encouraging than last year's attempt.
