Fox Creator Studios: A Major Media Player's Bet on Creator IP

In January 2025, Fox Entertainment officially launched Fox Creator Studios, signaling a significant move by a traditional media giant into the rapidly evolving creator economy. The digital-first division was established with a clear mandate: to partner with content creators across platforms like YouTube and TikTok, focusing on intellectual property and providing capital without the usual studio development hurdles.

Approximately one year after its inception, around January 2026, Fox Creator Studios unveiled its inaugural slate of deals. This initial wave heavily featured food-focused creators, including Rosanna Pansino, Theorist, Little Remy Food, Jolly, and Sorted Food. Adding a layer of industry expertise, Gordon Ramsay, who co-founded Studio Ramsay Global with Fox in 2021, was brought in to mentor these creators and assist in programming development.

The studio's strategy extends beyond food content. In January 2026, Fox inked a deal with prolific creator Dhar Mann to produce 40 new microseries, a testament to the diverse range of IP they are pursuing. Furthermore, Fox had already taken an equity stake in Holywater, the company behind the microdrama platform My Drama, in 2025, demonstrating a broader investment in the burgeoning short-form content space. Prior partnerships, like the one with Tom Segura, also set a precedent for their creator-centric approach.

Billy Parks, head of Fox Creator Studios, articulated the division's model during an appearance on the podcast "Creator Upload," co-hosted by Tubefilter's Joshua Cohen and Lauren Schnipper. "The long and short of it is we want to invest in creator IP," Parks explained. "We're partnering on IP. We finance it. Creators are coming to us with ideas; we're not coming to them with ideas. We listen to what they want to make and why they want to make it." This hands-off philosophy is central to their appeal: "And we say, 'Great, go make it.' No development, no, 'Hey, what if you change this character,' no going through it for several months. [With Creator Studios], it's like, here's the capital. Go make it."

Parks emphasized that the creators are largely self-sufficient. "We're looking for creators that want to execute their vision on their platforms and generally they know how to do it," he noted, adding that while they can provide a producer if an idea is "bigger than I can handle," creators are typically "endemic producers." Fox Creator Studios has since announced a second wave of creator signings, though specific names have not been publicly detailed. Parks characterized these initial partnerships as "really telling of what we want to do," underscoring Fox's commitment to rebuilding its "hundred years of history of helping creators" for the digital age.
